Ozmac - discussion/sharing list for #macintosh

Besides the channel itself, users like to keep in touch, discuss and share on our listserver. For those who don't know what a listserver is - then think of it as a forum. It is also a way of staying in touch when you arn't on channel much and also a way of informing people of any changes in the channel.

List Etiquette

As with most listservers (or as many people now call them - forums, discussion groups, etc.) on the internet there are acceptable codes of behaviour. Ozmac has its etiquette and is the standard kind for this sort of resource. You can read it by clicking on the heading "List Etiquette" above.

History of this list

#macintosh has had a number of lists all run from personal servers. Inevitably with most personal servers they sometimes go offline for unpredicatible lengths of time and on occassion are know to disappear forever.

This particular list is a yahoogroups list and was setup as a temporary list by a former #macintosh regular - Melodious - after one of the personal servers had disappeared. Melodious died in ?????? and is #macintosh's first death.

So despite the fact that this list does not have a list owner anymore we are keeping this list going as a memorial to Melodious.
